Back to school!
Dean started Year One (aka First Grade) on Thursday.
I really can't get over how handsome he is in that uniform!!!
He was SO EXCITED. We actually did a count down to the first day....as in "how many sleeps until I get to see all my friends and choose my own food at lunch (as opposed to the teacher putting a little bit of everything on the plate like they do for Reception (aka Kindergarten) kids).
The first two days couldn't have gone better. He was so happy to go in every morning and bursting with joy and energy when I picked him up. He even wanted to tell me all the details (to include all the things he put on his plate for lunch and all the things he did NOT put on his plate for lunch.)
Addie started preschool the same day. She really liked it. All last year I had to drag her out of Dean's classroom....and it was always the same thing "whhhyyyyy can't I go to school too?" So for a few hours twice a week so gets to go to school. They have two guinea pigs that she adores....all she wants to do is hold them on her lap and pet them. She actually calls them "Jinny Pigs" which is so cute!
This picture was taken with Spike's little digi camera and I nearly deleted it because the light is SO BAD....but it's the only picture with the two of them together on their first day. They make me so proud....what an awesome blessing!!
The end of last week was also when my newest article for The Scrap Review went live. I reviewed an embroidery book (which I LOVE and so recommend.) It LOVED hand sewing again...I am totally addicted. I want to sew on everything!
My projects:
This is a cheap-o plastic album that I covered with a little (super cute) felt jacket. I made it as a gift but am having a very hard time sending it off....I Love it so much. I think I will have to make another one. I loved sewing those little skulls.
I jazzed up these hand-me-down jeans for Addie. I am pretty crazy about that cute little singing bird.
I also made a card with some cool stitching but you will have to get on over to the site to check it out.
And with that I'm out!
XO
